| Dermot
Somerville grew up in a musical family in Dublin, Ireland,
where singing and music making were a part of everyday life. In
1974, Dermot moved to the US, where he has traveled and
entertained with his extensive repertoire of Irish songs ever
since. He received a degree in music from Cleveland State
University, and continued postgraduate studies in Irish folk
music in University College Cork, Ireland. For many years, he
has been an avid folk music performer, researcher, supporter and
educator in Cleveland. Presently he mixes his love of music with
his interest and career in technology. |

| Ülle Laido
was born in Estonia, where she studied in Tallinn Conservatory.
After moving to America in 1975, she continued her studies and
received her Master of Music degree. Her main field of interest
has been vocal music with emphasis on Renaissance and Baroque
music. She directs Vocal Music Ensemble Laudisti. She also
studied organ and is presently Director of Music at Holy Rosary
Church where she plays for services and directs several choirs.
She was first introduced to Irish music by her then
future-husband Dermot and fell in love with both. The
spontaneity and depth of Celtic music has added a new dimension
to her musicianship. With Shanua, Ülle sings and "orchestrates"
with the keyboard. |
